Four modern modular schools have been built in Mykolaiv region, in communities affected by Russian shelling. These educational spaces were installed by the SavED charitable foundation and are intended for children returning to full-time education.

These mobile schools are made of special sandwich panels, which ensures their durability - they can last up to 50 years. According to the co-founder of the foundation, Hanna Novosad, such construction saves time and resources. Each space is fully equipped with the necessary furniture, tablets and interactive multimedia panels.

The new schools are ready to receive students. In the village of Chervona Dolyna (Shyrokivska community), the space is designed for 300 children, and in the village of Zelenyi Hai (Shevchenkivska community) - for 180. In the village of Pervomaiske (Pervomaiska community), 250 students will sit at desks, and in the village of Shevchenkove (Shevchenkivska community) - 300 students.

Once the main schools are restored, these modular structures can be re-equipped. They can become kindergartens, spaces for creativity, or administrative service centers.

These projects are extremely important given that 19 schools in Mykolaiv region were completely destroyed and another 117 damaged by the full-scale invasion. At the same time, 52 schools in Mykolaiv itself have started operating in a full-time or mixed format this year.

Meanwhile, the largest underground kindergarten was opened in Mykolaiv. The shelter for the kindergarten became the largest underground educational space in the city and region. These shelters will allow more than 700 children to return to full-time education.

The area of the two renovated locations exceeds 1700 square meters. The renovation work began in January 2025 and was completed in the summer.

These shelters allow classes to be held during air raids and have special areas for games, development and recreation for the youngest students.

The project is being implemented with the support of the savED charitable foundation, the LEGO Foundation, and the Kingdom of Denmark. New underground facilities are planned for the future. The partners' total investment in the region's educational infrastructure will exceed UAH 50 million.
