Thanks to international partners and donors, two modernly equipped shelters were opened in Mykolaiv for the start of the new school year. The first one is in a joint educational space on the basis of a kindergarten and a gymnasium, and the second one is for another kindergarten in the city.

This was reported by Vitaliy Kim, head of Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration.

The shelter for the kindergarten has become the largest educational underground space in the city and region. These shelters will allow more than 700 children to return to full-time education.

The area of the two renovated locations exceeds 1700 square meters. The renovation work began in January 2025 and was completed in the summer.

These shelters allow classes to be held during air raids and have special areas for games, development and recreation for the youngest students.

The project is being implemented with the support of the savED charitable foundation, the LEGO Foundation, and the Kingdom of Denmark. New underground facilities are planned for the future. The partners' total investment in the region's educational infrastructure will exceed UAH 50 million.

UAH 8 million was allocated for the reconstruction of the building for the Mykolaiv police office. The Main Directorate of the National Police in Mykolaiv Oblast plans to reconstruct a non-residential facility to house an administrative building. The cost of the work, according to the announcement in the system, is more than UAH 7 million 912 thousand.

In addition, the Ministry of Internal Affairs hospital in Mykolaiv has announced an open tender to select a contractor to overhaul the roof of the main building of the medical facility. The expected cost of the work is over UAH 9 million. According to the tender documents, the contractor will have to perform a full range of repairs, including dismantling the old roof.
