Lithuania, one of Ukraine's closest partners, has provided substantial support in several strategic areas for the development of Kherson Oblast.

According to Oleksandr Prokudin, the head of the Kherson Regional State Administration, one of the key areas was energy. During meetings with Deputy Minister of Energy Arnold Pikžirnis and Energy Attaché of the Lithuanian Embassy Laura Pushinskaitė, the parties discussed opportunities to make Kherson's critical infrastructure independent. Under the agreement, it is planned to transfer 500 solar panels, which will significantly increase the energy resilience of important facilities in the region.

In addition, the parties discussed the restoration and construction of energy systems, as well as the possibility of attracting investments from Lithuanian businesses for the development of the Kherson region.

At the meeting with the Lithuanian Police Commissioner General Arunas Paulauskas, the parties agreed to transfer cars for Kherson law enforcement officers, as well as to organize training events and exchange of experience with Lithuanian specialists.

Particular attention was paid to countering Russian drone attacks. Thanks to an agreement with a representative of an international Lithuanian company that produces electronic warfare equipment, Kherson emergency services will receive free supplies of electronic warfare systems to protect against drones.

Memorandums of cooperation in the field of medicine were also signed with the Dean of Vilnius University Medical Faculty Dalius Jatužys and the CEO of Santaros Clinic Tomas Jovaisia. This will improve the provision of medical and rehabilitation services, as well as support for the mental health of patients affected by Russian shelling.

"I am grateful to our Lithuanian partners for understanding the challenges Kherson region faces on a daily basis and for their help in overcoming the difficulties," Prokudin said.
