A modular water purification system will be installed in the Velyko Oleksandrivska community in Kherson Oblast to provide safe drinking water for more than 11,000 residents. The project, implemented in partnership with the Swedish company Wayout, will be a pilot initiative as part of the region's recovery program.

This is evidenced by the DREAM ecosystem data.

A modular Wayout water purification system will be installed in the Velyko Oleksandrivska community in Kherson Oblast. The project is being implemented as a pilot initiative under the first phase of the region's water resilience and recovery program and aims to provide safe drinking water for about 11,500 community residents, including more than 1,900 children and 3,600 elderly people.

The new system will produce 22,000 liters of mineralized water per day from any source, operate without chemicals, automatically and with remote monitoring. The equipment has a service life of 30 years. The project also creates local jobs and reduces CO2 emissions by more than 1,200 tons per year. The system has already been certified by Nestle Waters and UNICEF.

The project was initiated by the Velyko Oleksandrivka Village Council and the Regional Development Agency "Office of European Integration" of Kherson Oblast in partnership with the Swedish company Wayout International AB. The Memorandum of Understanding was signed on June 6, 2025, in Kyiv with the support of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Kherson Regional State Administration.

The total budget of the project is UAH 94 million, with funding not yet confirmed.

The project is integrated into the Unified Project Portfolio (UPP) and is in line with the National Program for Comprehensive Community Restoration, ensuring water resilience and environmental safety of the region.

In 2025, Khersonvodokanal allocated funds for a wide range of needs, from paying for electricity and repairing networks to purchasing equipment and household goods. In total, the company spent over UAH 152 million on the largest purchases, with electricity, its distribution, water supply repairs, and diesel fuel being the most expensive.
