Work has begun in the Kherson region to immortalize the memory of civilian victims of Russian aggression.
According to the Kherson Regional Military Administration, the project involves the creation of memorial spaces in the region's communities and the development of a digital archive that will collect the stories of the victims.
"During the first meeting of the newly created working group, those present considered the conceptual vision of future memorials, identified priority tasks for the practical implementation of the plan, and approved a work plan for the current year," the statement said.
According to Volodymyr Kliutsevsky , deputy head of the Kherson Regional State Administration, local authorities are committed to honoring the memory of every civilian in the Kherson region whose life was cut short by Russian invaders.
"By creating such spaces, we will be able to preserve the memory of the consequences of Russian aggression for future generations," he added.
Earlier, the Kherson Regional Military Administration decided to create a unified route to the places of memory. The main topic was the discussion of proposals from local communities to include iconic locations in the future route. As a result of the meeting, the first six priority sites for the pilot project were identified:
The DMA explained that these objects will be submitted for consideration to the working group on the creation of a single route under the Ministry of Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine.
