In Mykolaiv, citizens are invited to discuss corruption risks in the activities of local governments and ways to minimize the problem.
The meeting was announced by the Expert and Public Council under the executive committee of the city council.
The public can contribute to the development of the Integrity Plan, a strategic document for 2025-2027 that should reduce corruption risks in the city government. The plan is being developed by a special working group established in June 2024. Its task is to identify and direct solutions to overcome possible corruption in the activities of executive bodies. Representatives of the council call on Mykolaiv residents, activists, businesses, and anyone else who wants to join the public discussion of the project: to provide suggestions, comments, and help make the work of the authorities more transparent. The open meeting will take place on August 15 at 15:00, and anyone can register.
Earlier, Tetiana Kravchuk, a deputy of the Mykolaiv City Council from Shariy's party, resigned her mandate early. The deputies supported the decision unanimously. Svitlana Fedorova, a deputy from another banned party , Nash Krai, also resigned her seat early. She explained her withdrawal from the council by saying that it was unacceptable for her to work with the current leadership, which, according to her, demonstrates complete inaction, corruption and evasion of mobilization.
Two new deputies from the Servant of the People party were elected to the Mykolaiv Regional Council. On July 1, at the thirtieth extraordinary session of the Mykolaiv Regional Council of the eighth convocation, the deputies recognized the powers of two newly elected representatives of the Servant of the People party, Kateryna Konoplyannikova and Albina Bondarenko. They took the seats of those deputies who had resigned from the council.
