Prosecutors of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office have approved and sent to court indictments against the head of the Konstantynivka community in Kherson region and two locals who applied to work as police officers during the occupation of the city.

According to the regional prosecutor's office, in October 2022, the 31-year-old accused voluntarily took the position of the so-called "head of the Konstantynivka territorial administration of the Hornostayevsk Military and Civil Administration of the Kherson region."

"In this position, the man organized logistical, legal and financial support for the activities of the illegal authority, selected employees and appointed them to positions, directly supervised his subordinates," the agency said.

Investigators also found that during the occupation of Kherson, a 37-year-old woman and a 48-year-old man voluntarily took positions in the illegal law enforcement agency of the occupiers.

"The defendants were employed by the 'Suvorov City Police Department of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Kherson Region' illegally created by the occupation authorities," the prosecutor's office said.

The woman took the position of "acting inspector of the department of district police inspectors," and the man - "police driver of the duty unit." In their pseudo-posts, they assisted the occupation authorities in establishing control and spreading the influence of illegally created bodies among the local population, which ensured their proper functioning and facilitated the temporary occupation of the territories of Kherson region.

Earlier, the prosecutors of the Genichesk District Prosecutor 's Office sent to court an indictment against the so-called "deputy head of the Nyzhniosirohozsky municipal district of Kherson region". Prosecutors of the Kherson District Prosecutor's Office also sent to court an indictment against a 48-year-old resident of Kherson, who in July 2022 took the position of "Head of the Department of Transport, Communications, Road Repair and Maintenance" in the occupation administration of Kherson. In addition, law enforcement officers completed a pre-trial investigation against a 46-year-old resident of Komyshany, who headed the "security service" of an illegally established industrial enterprise and transferred the seized property of a Ukrainian company to the Russian occupiers.
