A resident of Kherson, who held a senior position in the occupation administration, will be tried

According to the Prosecutor's Office of Kherson region, a 48-year-old resident of Kherson voluntarily cooperated with the enemy during the occupation of the city. In July 2022, he took the position of "Head of the Department of Transport, Communications, Road Repair and Maintenance" in the occupation administration of Kherson. In this position, the man performed organizational and administrative functions in an illegally created body in the temporarily occupied territory.

Therefore, the prosecutors of the Kherson District Prosecutor's Office sent an indictment against the man to the court on the fact of collaboration.

Earlier, during the occupation, a 46-year-old resident of Komyshany headed the "security service" of an illegally created industrial enterprise and transferred the seized property of a Ukrainian company to the Russian occupiers. The pre-trial investigation against the suspect has been completed and the indictment has been sent to court. The law enforcement also exposed a resident of Kherson region who voluntarily agreed to work in an illegal educational institution established by the occupation administration during the occupation. Prior to that, law enforcement officers served a notice of suspicion of collaboration to the "manager of affairs" of the occupation administration in Dnipro. But so far in absentia.

In addition, three residents of the Kherson region who helped the Russians hold an illegal referendum were sentenced to ten years in prison with the deprivation of the right to engage in activities related to the electoral process for fifteen years. The Kherson court also found a local resident guilty of collaborating with the occupiers during the pseudo-referendum in Kherson region. He was sentenced to 10 years in prison with confiscation of property.
