In Odesa, while filming the aftermath of the Russian shelling, the security guards of a residential complex tried to prevent journalists from working without "permission from the administration." Despite the obstacles, the film crew managed to prepare the material.

This was reported by journalist Ksenia Sitinska.

According to her, the guards demanded to stop the video recording and insisted that they needed permission from the administration to work on the territory of the complex. The journalist offered to call the police if the actions of the film crew violated the law, but the guards did not do so, and the team continued to work.

Later, according to Sitinska, they were approached by unknown men without IDs, who also tried to prevent the filming. The journalists turned to the administration of the complex and called the chief engineer, who was supposed to give permission, but received no response.

The journalist noted that the entrance to the territory of the residential complex was open, so the crew entered freely. However, after the camera appeared, security guards demanded that they stop working. In the video that the journalist sent to the editorial office, the phrase is heard from the radio:"Let them go to the engineer, if he gives the okay, they will film."

Sitinskaya added that the team had previously prepared a story about the shelling in another part of the city, and they were not subject to any complaints, except for restricting access to the damaged floor. In the same case, she said, they were not allowed to work even in the open area of the complex. The journalists did not appeal to law enforcement officers, as they were able to collect the necessary materials for the FreeDom TV channel's story.

On the night of February 17, Russian troops attacked Odesa and the region with attack drones. The shelling damaged civilian and energy infrastructure: one of the drones hit an apartment on the upper floors of a high-rise building, and there were also strikes on warehouses and a service station building. Garages and cars were damaged. Two people were hospitalized and another woman was treated on the spot.
