Man wounded in Russian attack in January dies in Odesa

The number of victims of the Russian air strike on Odesa on January 27 increased - a man born in 1948 died.

This was reported by the head of the Odesa City Military Administration, Serhiy Lysak.

This brings the number of victims of the attack in Odesa to five. The man who died at night had suffered severe burns and poisoning from combustion products in his own home on Balkivska Street. All this time, the victim was in the intensive care unit of the burn unit. Doctors did their best, but the injuries were too severe.

On the night of January 27, Russians launched a massive attack on Odesa with unmanned aerial vehicles, injuring 22 people. Employees of the State Emergency Service in Odesa region counted more than 10 hit points. In particular, the attack damaged a two-story residential building, and destroyed an apartment on the second floor of a two-story residential building at another address. Apartments from the second to the fourth floor of a four-story building were also destroyed. A hit to a nine-story building caused a fire on the fourth and fifth floors.

At the end of the day, rescuers pulled the body of a woman from the rubble of a house on Prokhorivska Street in Odesa that had been destroyed by a drone strike, bringing the total number of victims to three.

On January 29, the Odesa regional administration reported that a fourth person was confirmed dead as a result of a drone attack. An elderly man who lived in a destroyed house on Prokhorovska Street died of his injuries.

On the night of January 27, the enemy attacked Ukraine with 165 Shahed, Gerbera, Italmass and other types of attack drones. According to preliminary data from the Ukrainian Air Force Command, as of 8:00 a.m., air defense defenses had neutralized 135 enemy drones in the north, south, center, and east of the country.

At the same time, 24 attack drones were recorded at 14 locations, and downed drones and their wreckage fell at nine locations.
