On August 21, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine decided to allocate UAH 107 million to the Kherson Regional Military Administration for the urgent restoration of a number of water supply facilities in Kherson region.
This was announced by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal.
"During my visit to the Kherson region last month, I raised the issue of the need to urgently restore a number of water supply facilities in the region. The relevant agencies were instructed to work on this issue. Today, we are allocating UAH 107.27 million from the reserve fund to Kherson Regional Water Company to carry out the necessary work," Shmyhal wrote in a telegram.
He noted that these funds will be used to restore water supply in three settlements, which will provide drinking water to more than 5,000 people.
"Yesterday we also approved the Program of comprehensive water supply for the war-affected areas. This will make it possible to guarantee uninterrupted access to water for two million more Ukrainians by the end of 2025," Shmyhal added.
Earlier it was reported that an industrial filter for drinking water purification was installed in Novovorontsovka, Kherson region. Due to the explosion of the Kakhovka dam, some communities still need drinking water, so the treatment plant is extremely necessary. It is noted that within a month, one such station can purify and make about 1000 liters of water suitable for use. The equipment removes dangerous impurities from the water. Now local residents will be able to consume filtered drinking water on a daily basis. Water Mission helped to install the filter for the purified water supply.
It was also mentioned that on August 8, employees of the Kherson water utility eliminated a complicated accident at the water supply system in Antonovka.
