The Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to hold back the Russian offensive along the entire front line. According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as of the morning of April 16, 153 combat engagements were recorded over the past day.
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the situation in the southern sector remains tense. On the Prydniprovsky stretch, Russian troops tried to break through the Ukrainian defense five times in the direction of Antonivske.
All of the enemy's attempts were in vain - the Ukrainian military repelled the attacks and prevented the occupiers from advancing. Antonivske Bridge remains one of the key points in the region, and its control is of strategic importance to both sides.
In addition, the enemy is actively using all types of weapons: it launched two missile strikes using 24 missiles, carried out 76 air strikes (225 guided bombs), and used more than 9,000 kamikaze drones. In total, more than 3,400 attacks on Ukrainian troop positions and populated areas were recorded.
In total, the aviation, missile troops and artillery of the Defense Forces hit seven areas of concentration of enemy manpower and equipment over the past day.
Russian army losses amounted to about 1,100 soldiers over the day. Two tanks, armored vehicles, 43 artillery systems, MLRS, air defense systems, 20 cruise missiles and more than 1300 drones were also destroyed.
Earlier, Intent wrote that in the Prydniprovskyi sector, Russian troops intensified their attempts to storm the positions of the Defense Forces near Antonivskyi Bridge. On March 28, the enemy made two attacks near the suburbs of Kherson.
At the same time, analysts at the Institute for War Studies note that Russian troops continue limited ground attacks east of Kherson, particularly in the area of Antonivskyi Bridge, but without making any progress.
Since the beginning of the year, the Russian occupiers have significantly intensified their attacks on Kherson. During this time, the city has already experienced about 1300 attacks with cannon and rocket artillery.
Earlier, the British newspaper The Times published an article about Kherson, in which it pointed out that the city, which once celebrated liberation from Russian occupation, has now become a testing ground for modern methods of warfare. Russian troops have turned Kherson into an arena of terror, where drones have become the main weapon of intimidation and destruction of civilians.
Intent also wrote about how the Russian army carried out a series of targeted strikes on a civilian medical facility in the Dniprovsky district of Kherson. The enemy attacked the territory of one of the local hospitals three times using unmanned aerial vehicles.
