Power and water suddenly disappeared in Kherson

On April 16, after 10:00 a.m., a sudden power outage occurred in Kherson. Along with the power, the city lost water supply.

This was reported by Yaroslav Shanko, head of Kherson MVA.

According to him, experts are currently investigating the cause of the blackout.

Against the backdrop of the blackout, 26 Unbreakable Points are operating in the city. There, residents can get the help they need: replenish drinking water, charge gadgets and use the Internet.

Later, Yaroslav Shanko said that the Kherson community is gradually restoring electricity supply. At the same time, residents are asked to use electricity sparingly to avoid overloading the grid and new emergency outages.

Repairs in the coastal areas remain difficult due to the constant threat of shelling.

At the same time, the authorities warn of the threat of new attacks. According to the available information, Russian troops may conduct massive strikes on the central part of Kherson using drones and artillery. Residents were urged not to go out unless necessary and to refrain from visiting the city center.

As a reminder, this morning on April 16, Russian troops struck at the energy infrastructure of Mykolaiv region, which led to large-scale power outages.

Earlier, Intent wrote that on March 18, hourly power outages were introduced in Mykolaiv amid an emergency in the power system.

As a reminder, the morning attack by Russian troops on Mykolaiv on February 22 damaged energy infrastructure facilities. The occupiers used Shahed attack drones, which led to large-scale power outages in the city.

It also became known that the energy sector of Kherson region will receive 1 million euros of financial assistance from the German region of Schleswig-Holstein. The grant funds will be used to technically strengthen the power system and eliminate the consequences of damage.
