The energy sector of Kherson region will receive €1 million in financial assistance from the German region of Schleswig-Holstein. The grant funds will be used to technically strengthen the power system and eliminate the consequences of damage.
This was reported by the Kherson Regional State Administration.
"This amount is twice as much as originally planned. After we spoke to the regional government, they decided to increase the assistance," said Oleksandr Prokudin, head of the Kherson Regional State Administration.
In addition to financial assistance, the region expects to receive 13 armored vehicles for the evacuation of the wounded and emergency services (the first batch of three vehicles will arrive in February). The support program also includes the transfer of protective nets to counter drone attacks on civilian infrastructure. <span>According to the head of the OVA, the aid package will be complemented by a resuscitation vehicle, ballistic equipment, generators, heat guns, and even a seed fund for the experimental agricultural sector.</span>
Earlier, the Kherson City Military Administration decided to allocate funds to support the military. Almost 2.5 million hryvnias were allocated for the needs of the city and region's defenders.
According to the MMA, the total amount allocated to support the Defense Forces in the community is currently over UAH 63.7 million, of which UAH 61.2 million has already been transferred to military units. In addition, the city council reported that they had previously allocated UAH 2.2 million to purchase the necessary equipment for the defense forces. Two Kherson communities received these funds.
