Prosecutors of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office have sent to court an indictment against a man who organized illegal "elections" in the temporarily occupied territory of the region.

According to the investigation, the 50-year-old accused was in Skadovsk in April 2023, where he voluntarily agreed to head the so-called Skadovsk Territorial Election Commission.

In this position, he ensured the preparation and conduct of pseudo-elections to the illegally created authorities. In particular, he organized the reception and processing of lists of "candidates" from Russian parties.

In addition, the accused coordinated the work of the occupation "electoral body", implemented the Russian automated "election" system, and processed protocols with the results of "voting" from 21 "precinct commissions".

Later, he determined the results of the "elections" and ensured their publication on the occupier-controlled resources.

The defendant's actions are classified under Part 5 of Art. 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - organization and conduct of illegal elections in the occupied territory. He faces criminal liability.

Earlier, Intent wrote that the Security Service of Ukraine served a notice of suspicion of aiding and abetting Russia to Halyna Perelovych, the head of the Kalanchak occupation administration in Kherson region, a native of Crimea.

In addition, two deputies of local councils will be tried in Kherson region, who are accused of cooperating with the occupation authorities and participating in illegal bodies of the Russian Federation.

As a reminder, a deputy of the Oleshky City Council from the now banned OPFL party was officially found guilty of collaboration.

In addition to administrative activities, the collaborator contributed to the work of the invaders' punitive bodies by handing over computer equipment to representatives of the illegal law enforcement agency in Oleshky. His participation in organizing and conducting mass events in support of the aggressor state was also recorded.
