Drones cause fires in a port and a nature reserve on the Danube

On the night of April 17, Russian terrorists again massively attacked the peaceful Odesa region with unmanned aerial vehicles.

According to the head of the Odesa regional military administration, Oleh Kiper, port, transport and residential infrastructure facilities were damaged.

Fires broke out in several locations, including the Danube Biosphere Reserve, and have been extinguished by rescuers. Administrative buildings, equipment and containers were damaged. At least six private residential buildings were damaged. However, there has been no preliminary information about injuries or deaths.

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, on the night of April 17, starting at 18:00 on April 16, the enemy attacked with one Iskander-M ballistic missile from the TOT of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, as well as 172 Shahed, Gerbera, Italmass and other types of attack drones from the following directions: Bryansk, Kursk, Orel, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk in the Russian Federation, Hvardiysk - temporarily occupied territories of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, about 120 of them were Shahed.

According to preliminary data, as of 8:00 a.m., air defense neutralized 147 enemy Shahed, Gerbera, Italmash and other types of drones in the north, south and east of the country. A ballistic missile and 20 attack drones were recorded at eight locations, and the downed drones fell at four locations.

The night before, Odesa experienced massive attacks with missiles and attack drones, which covered the city in several waves. Nine people were killed in the shelling. Another 23 residents sustained injuries of varying severity. Civilian infrastructure suffered serious damage. A residential building was damaged in Khadzhybey district, and the blast wave smashed more than 300 windows in several buildings. Damage was also recorded in one of the parks in Primorsky district.
