Dozens of settlements in the Kherson region were hit by Russian drones, aircraft and artillery. In Mykolaiv region, drones attacked the Ochakiv community eight times.
According to Oleksandr Prokudin, the head of the Kherson Military District Administration, dozens of settlements in the Kherson region, including Antonivka, Chornobaivka, Bilozerka, Beryslav, Kozatske, Tomyna Balka and the city of Kherson, were hit by Russian drones, aircraft and artillery.
The occupiers targeted critical and social infrastructure, as well as residential areas. Four high-rise buildings, eight private houses, an administrative building and a trolleybus network were damaged.
As a result of the Russian attacks, one person was killed and three others were injured.
According to the head of Mykolaiv regional military administration Vitaliy Kim, fighting continued in the region yesterday. Troops attacked the territory of the Ochakiv community eight times with FPV drones. There were no casualties. In the air defense area, two Shahed UAVs and various types of imitator drones were shot down.
On October 18, in the Prydniprovskyi sector, Russian occupation forces intensified their activities and tried to approach the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces three times near the strategically important Antonivskyi Bridge in the suburbs of Kherson. Ukrainian defenders timely detected enemy attempts to advance and successfully repelled all attacks, giving the enemy no chance to gain a foothold in their positions.
On October 18, the enemy attacked more than 30 settlements in Kherson region and communities in Mykolaiv region with drones and artillery. The shelling damaged residential buildings, schools, and other infrastructure, and three people were injured.
On October 17, six high-rise buildings and eleven private houses, an administrative building, an educational institution, a bank, a bus, and several cars of local residents were damaged in Kherson region. The Kherson Regional Museum of Local Lore sustained significant damage: a third of the building was destroyed, the roof was punctured, walls were damaged, and some of the exhibits were threatened. Later, the press service of the Kherson Regional Military Administration reported that on the same day, Russians shelled another museum in Kherson - a shell hit the roof of the institution, damaging the facade and roof.
