On December 16, the Russian army attacked Kherson and the region with various types of weapons. There were some casualties and injuries.
According to the press service of the regional military administration, the invaders shelled 29 settlements of the de-occupied Kherson region, including the regional center, in one day.
Thus, Antonivka, Honcharne, Ingulets, Tomyna Balka, Kizomys, Bilozerka, Beryslav, Stanislav, Shyroka Balka, Novoberislav, Ponyativka, Havrylivka, Sadove, and Sadovoye came under enemy fire and air strikes, Tokarivka, Komyshany, Mykhaylivka, Novoraysk, Lvov, Mykolayivka, Monastyrske, Veletynske, Vesele, Tomaryne, Tyahyntsi, Olgivka, Ivanivka, Novovorontsovka, Novotyanka, Chornobaivka, and the city of Kherson.
One person was killed and five others were wounded in the attack.
The Russian military hit critical and social infrastructure; residential areas of the region's settlements, in particular, damaged 2 high-rise buildings and 15 private houses. The occupiers also damaged a gas pipeline and outbuildings.
The Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office showed the consequences of the attack on a store in Beryslav. A 53-year-old woman died as a result of an explosive dropped by an enemy drone on the store. Another local resident sustained blast injuries and contusion.
As a result of the attacks in the regional center, a man sustained a head injury. Three people were also injured in Antonivka, a suburb of Kherson.
Kherson and the region are shelled daily by Russian invaders. On December 15, the occupiers shelled residential areas with artillery and aircraft. Two people were injured.
Prior to that, the Russian military shelled the Dniprovsky district of Kherson with artillery. A 75-year-old woman was killed when a shell hit a private house. In addition, the enemy opened fire on the village of Bilozerka, Kherson district. A 44-year-old man was killed and two men aged 45 and 48 were wounded in the shelling. The invaders also cut off electricity to two communities.
Earlier, the enemy launched three rocket attacks on Beryslav district. As a result of Russian aggression, 16 people were wounded, including 1 child.
