The investigation has established the crimes incriminated to a native of Makiivka, who performed combat missions in Kherson region, a member of the illegal armed group "DNR" received an indictment, which the Prosecutor's Office of Kherson region sent to court on October 29, 2025.

This was reported by the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office.

His activities included duty at checkpoints, illegal document checks, and systematic detentions of civilians. He and his accomplices tortured the detainees, kept them in inhumane conditions and forced them to cooperate.

The episode culminated in early April 2022 in the village of Vysokopillia. The militant detained a couple and another man at a checkpoint. After the third detainee was taken away in an unknown direction, the accused began a brutal interrogation of the couple. Under threats to his wife, he severely beat the husband, demanding that he confess to collaborating with the Ukrainian military.

The torture resulted in his murder: the man was placed in a trunk, taken outside the settlement and shot. The woman was subjected to psychological pressure and released only the next morning.

Since the accused is currently in hiding and is wanted, the trial will be heldin absentia. The special pre-trial investigation was conducted by investigators of the Kherson Regional Police with the operational support of the SBU Counterintelligence and the SBU CI Department in the region.

Earlier, Ukrainian law enforcement officers served a notice of suspicion to Adil Dunyamala-Ogly Osmanov, a native of Donetsk region, a serviceman of the so-called "DNR", who in 2022 tortured residents of Vysokopillia in Kherson region.

According to the investigation, Osmanov was a senior rifleman in the 109th Rifle Regiment of the 1st Army Corps. He is accused of illegal detention of civilians, physical and psychological violence, and extrajudicial repression.
