In Kherson region, two more collaborators who voluntarily went to serve the occupiers were exposed: one is a local resident of Kakhovka, the other is a deputy from the "Bloc Saldo".

According to the press service of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office, they were notified of being suspected of high treason and collaboration.

The first case concerns a man who agreed to participate in the illegal "elections" in September 2023, held by the occupiers to form the so-called "council of deputies of the Kakhovka municipal district of the first convocation". As a result of this farce, he was "elected" as a deputy, after which he joined the regional branch of the Russian party "United Russia".

This was only the beginning of his collaboration career: the man took part in the first session of the fake council, where he was appointed a member of the Standing Committee on Legality and Deputy Ethics under the guise of legalizing an illegal body. His activities were classified under Part 5 of Art. 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine(collaboration). The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by the Kherson regional police.

A 30-year-old deputy of the Suvorov District Council of Kherson was also served a notice of suspicion. According to the investigation, in June 2023, she joined the United Russia party and actively campaigned for the occupation authorities among local residents. The woman took part in pseudo-elections to the so-called Kherson Regional Duma and convinced people that after the final occupation "positive changes will begin."

Having received the "mandate," she began to systematically speak at pro-Russian events - congresses, conferences, meetings, and reported on the activities of the occupation authorities on public platforms, including her own Telegram channel.

In July 2023, the woman became the head of the Russian-seized scientific institute Askania-Nova, where she recruited staff and managed the work of the institution in the interests of the occupiers. She was served in absentia with a notice of suspicion of treason (Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine), voluntary election to illegal authorities and conducting information activities with the aggressor state.

The prosecutor's office emphasized that the actions of such people are not just cooperation, but deliberate strengthening of the enemy, which is punishable by criminal liability.
