Investigators have sent to court the case of the director of an Odesa utility company, who was found guilty of negligence in the purchase of electricity for kindergartens and schools.

This was reported by the press service of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Odesa Oblast.

Investigators are convinced that the official's improper performance of her duties led to unnecessary expenses from the state budget in the amount of more than UAH 320 thousand. Last fall, law enforcement officers exposed and documented the illegal activities of the director of the Center for Financing and Economic Activities of Educational Institutions of the Kyivskyi District of Odesa.

The head of the municipal institution allegedly entered into an agreement with a private company to supply electricity to kindergartens and schools in the district. She was supposed to control the price and volume of purchases, but failed to do so. As a result, for several months, electricity was purchased at a higher price than the market value and in smaller quantities. The official's improper performance of her duties resulted in unnecessary budget expenditures of more than UAH 320 thousand.

If found guilty, the official faces imprisonment for a term of two to five years with disqualification to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to three years and a fine of two hundred fifty to seven hundred fifty tax-free minimum incomes or without it.

Earlier, investigators of the Dnipropetrovs'k Regional Prosecutor's Office sent to court an indictment against a group of people on the fact of recruitment and transportation of people for labor exploitation. A couple and two residents of Dnipropetrovs'k organized an illegal mechanism for recruiting socially vulnerable people to keep them in labor slavery on the territory of their farm.
