Case of 100 thousand for kiosks in Chornomorsk sent to court

The Chornomorsk District Prosecutor's Office has sent to court an indictment against a former official of one of the district administrations of the Odesa City Council.

This was reported by the press service of the Odesa Regional Prosecutor's Office.

The official is charged with taking a bribe. During the investigation, it was found that the man, temporarily acting as the head of the district administration, offered an entrepreneur to produce and issue permits for the placement of four retail outlets for UAH 100,000. The official also promised to assist in concluding contracts for the use of these retail outlets.

In addition to the principal amount, the official planned to receive a monthly fee of UAH 1,000 for each outlet to ensure unimpeded business. In June of this year, law enforcement officers detained the representative of the district administration red-handed in his office while he was receiving the bribe. He has now been dismissed from his position.

According to the sanction of Article 368(3) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, this crime is punishable by imprisonment for up to 10 years with disqualification to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to three years, with confiscation of property.

In June, the court imposed on the suspect a pre-trial restraint in the form of detention with the right to be released on bail in the amount of UAH 2 million 271 thousand.

Earlier, the High Anti-Corruption Court approved a plea agreement concluded with Oleksandr Boyarsky, a judge of the Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi City District Court of Odesa Oblast, in the case of a corruption scheme involving the travel of men liable for military service abroad. According to the sources of the publication, Oleksandr Boyarsky was found guilty of committing a criminal offense under Part 3 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine "Receipt of undue advantage". He was sentenced to 6 years in prison, but released on probation for 3 years. For this period, he was banned from holding certain positions.
