Bloggers show how Blazhko descent is being repaired in Odesa

The authors of the Zootopia channel, who are constantly filming landslide sites in Odesa region, decided to see how Vitaliy Blazhko (formerly Marinesk) descent in the center of Odesa, which began to move several years ago, is being repaired.

According to the bloggers, the contractor is working slowly, given that the repair of this section directly affects traffic in the city, as the North-South tram route runs along this descent.

According to the author of the video, he filmed it on Sunday and found only three workers at work.

"Even though it's Sunday, I understand that it's difficult to work on Sunday, but while I was walking here, one man was welding, and the others were either resting or something. They saw the camera and went to work. So, three people are working, and they should have caught up with people and completed it in a month, not like the city is without a tram because two workers are working slowly. It shouldn't be like that. It should be like in all civilized countries. It's one thing when you are building something at your site and have your own plan, but here you are disrupting the city's transportation regime. You have to work day and night in an intensive mode. If there were 15 people here instead of two, they would have tied up the rebar and done everything," the author of the video emphasized.

On the other hand, the author of the video noted that the work is being done efficiently.

In December 2024, Odesa Mayor Hennadii Trukhanov extended the temporary ban on vehicle traffic on Vitalii Blazhko Descent.

In October of the same year, the Capital Construction Department of the Odesa City Council held an open tender for the construction of a new drainage system for the descent, and the only participant was Rostdorstroy Limited Liability Company. The final beneficiaries of Rostdorstroy LLC are currently Yuriy Shumacher, a deputy of the Odesa City Council and a representative of Hennadiy Trukhanov's Trust the Deeds party, and businessman Yevhen Konovalov.

The Department of Transport, Communications and Traffic Organization of the Odesa City Council has been instructed to change the city's public transport scheme for the period of the traffic ban.

In January 2024, Odesa City Hall decided to repair a section of the tramway on Vitalii Blazhko Descent, which has been sinking for several years. Odesmiskelektrotrans was appointed as the repair customer, as the landslide also affected the tram tracks located here.
