Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi Athletes Win Top Places at Italy Sports

The women's pair Victoria Lomachenko and Anastasia Gavrilutsa (13-19 years old) took first place in the qualification and 3rd place in the overall standings of the X Anniversary International Sports Acrobatics Tournament, which took place in Italy.

This was reported by the press service of the Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi City Council.

The fact is that the girls are natives of this city, and Victoria Lomachenko is the daughter of IBF lightweight boxing champion Vasyl Lomachenko. In total, nine students from the sports acrobatics department of the Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi Children's and Youth Sports School took part in the tournament, and not only Victoria and Anastasia won.

The women's group of Yelyzaveta Khodos, Orina Rybalchuk, and Yuliana Rassolova (age group 13-19) won gold in the qualification and overall competition. The mixed pair of Kyrylo Kholostenko and Karina Smertenyuk (12-18 years old) took second place in the qualification and first place in the overall competition. The women's pair (adult category) Daria Halytska and Amalia Garibyan took third place in the qualification.

Earlier, the journalists investigated how Vasyl Lomachenko from Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi managed the earnings from his boxing career. The athlete invested in the construction of a hotel in Odesa region, but some of his investments have links to Russia. Famous Ukrainian boxer and two-time Olympic champion Vasyl Lomachenko has earned millions of dollars over the years and is actively investing in various projects. Among them is the Loma Club Hotel in Zatoka, built before the full-scale invasion. This is the athlete's contribution to the Ukrainian economy.

In addition to his athletic achievements, Vasyl Lomachenko is also known for his support of the branch of the Russian Orthodox Church in Ukraine, better known as the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (Moscow Patriarchate). For example, in March 2023, the athlete posted a video on Instagram of the Union of Orthodox Journalists news agency, which publishes news from the UOC of the Moscow Patriarchate.
