The Kyiv District Court of Odesa found the man guilty of obstructing the lawful activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and intentional destruction of property by arson and sentenced him to five years in prison.

According to the court's verdict, the man made a deal with the prosecutor and pleaded guilty.

The man committed his crimes in July 2024. As law enforcement officers found out, the man received an order via the Telegram messenger to set fire to the military's car for money. For the crime, he involved his friend who worked as a courier. It was the accomplice who found the first car - while driving along the routes, he saw a car painted in camouflage colors. Later, the criminals came to the place where they saw the car and the accused set it on fire. An accomplice filmed the arson on video.

A week later, the attackers came across a car belonging to the NGO Orc Hunters and set it on fire as well.

The court also took into account the written intention of the accused to enlist and stay in the Armed Forces of Ukraine to take measures to ensure national security and defense, repel and deter the armed aggression of the Russian Federation.

Earlier, the Bohunskyi District Court of Zhytomyr found the native of Odesa guilty of high treason and sentenced him to 15 years in prison with confiscation of all his property. The man committed high treason by assisting representatives of a foreign state, the Russian Federation, in conducting subversive activities against Ukraine under martial law.

And a former paramedic from Odesa was sentenced to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property for treason. The man was recruited remotely in April 2024. At the time, he worked in an ambulance and attracted the attention of the Russian Federal Security Service with his comments on anti-Ukrainian Telegram channels.
