In Kherson, a man who worked as a cameraman for the pro-Russian Tavria TV channel during the occupation was served with a notice of suspicion. According to the investigation, he helped create materials that justified the occupation authorities and spread Russian propaganda.

This was reported by the press service of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office.

According to law enforcement officers, in July 2022, the 52-year-old man got a job as a videographer at a media outlet controlled by the occupation authorities. His job was to provide technical support for filming and prepare content for broadcasts.

Law enforcement officers believe that the suspect filmed staged stories, interviews with representatives of the occupation administration and people who openly supported Russian aggression against Ukraine. The materials he worked on promoted the thesis of an allegedly "peaceful life" under Russian control and support for the occupiers by local residents.

The man also traveled to the battlefields to film stories where, according to the investigation, information was presented in a distorted form in favor of the aggressor state. In addition, he participated in the creation of reports on public propaganda events in the occupied territory.

The footage was aired on the Tavria TV channel, distributed on social media, and is still publicly available.

Under the procedural supervision of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office, the man was served a notice of suspicion of conducting information activities in cooperation with the aggressor state. The court has already imposed a pre-trial restraint in the form of detention with the possibility of bail in excess of UAH 266,000.

Last year, in May, the Russians launched a new pseudo-media studio"Tavria" in occupied Simferopol. They used equipment taken from the Suspilne.Kherson TV and radio company during the escape from the Kherson region in 2022.

Ukraine also sentenced Oleg Kryuchkov, the general producer of the occupiers' Crimean TV channel, to death. The investigation established that he personally led the creation of a network of 19 pro-Russian TV studios, radio stations and online resources in the temporarily occupied territories of Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions. These media centers have become the main tool for spreading fakes and justifying Russian war crimes against civilians.
