In Kherson region, a deputy of the occupation council was sentenced in absentia to 10 years in prison. She contributed to the illegal administration of the Nazis, headed the commission on social issues and participated in the organization of pseudo-elections.

This was reported by the press service of the SBU in Ivano-Frankivsk region.

The deputy of the illegal local council of the village of Kalanchak, Skadovsk district, Kherson region, was sentenced to 10 years in prison with confiscation of property, according to the SBU.

According to the investigation, a pro-Russian resident of the village of Chaplynka became a deputy in the elections held under the laws of the Russian Federation in the temporarily occupied territories in September 2023. After the pseudo-elections, she was elected to the so-called "council of deputies of the Kalanchak municipal district of the first convocation" from the "United Russia" party.

At the first session of the illegal council, she was appointed "chairman of the standing committee on social issues, legality and deputy ethics." In this position, she supervised the adoption of the charter and the structure of the territorial unit, the organization of local referendums and future illegal elections, the procedure for the service of officials of the occupation administration and local government issues under the laws of the Russian Federation.

In addition, the deputy implemented the political tasks of the occupation authorities: initiated and supported awards and honors, organization of cultural and leisure events, popularization of monuments, acquisition of library collections and work with children and youth, as well as facilitated relations with the controlled media.

Based on the evidence collected by the SBU, the court found her guilty under Part 5 of Art. 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (collaboration).

At the end of August, Kherson prosecutors exposed a group of collaborators and assistants of the occupation authorities. Over the past months, 40 people have been suspected in absentia of crimes against the national security of Ukraine, and another 15 have already received actual sentences with imprisonment and confiscation of property.

According to law enforcement, these people voluntarily joined the service of the Nazis, held positions in illegal administrations and law enforcement agencies, participated in fake referendums and elections, transferred enterprise resources to the occupiers, and spread Russian propaganda.
