The Central Election Commission of Moldova has not accepted the application for registration for participation in the parliamentary elections of the Peremoha bloc.
Pavel Postica , deputy head of the CEC, said that members of the Peremoha bloc are linked to fugitive oligarch Ilan Shor, who was sentenced to 15 years in prison in Moldova, Newsmaker reported.
In addition, according to him, the congress of the Peremoha political bloc in Moscow "raised reasonable suspicions. He also reminded that the law prohibits the creation of a new political force on the basis of a party that has been recognized as unconstitutional.
In addition, the CEC pointed out that the name and symbols of the bloc coincide with the name of one of its member parties, which violates electoral norms. The leaders of the Peremoha bloc, who attended the meeting, stated that they considered the CEC's decision unlawful. During the meeting, at the request of the CEC members, the leader of the Chance party, Oleksiy Lunga, was removed from the room.
The Victory Bloc was founded in April 2024 in Moscow. It included four Moldovan parties controlled by fugitive politician Ilan Shor, who was sentenced to 15 years in Moldova: Chance, Revival, Alternative Force for the Salvation of Moldova, and Victoria.
In May, a politician from the group of fugitive Moldovan oligarch Ilan Shor, Victoria Furtune, announced her desire to return Bujak, a historical and geographical region that is south of the modern Odesa region, to Moldova.
And in March, the Moldovan Ministry of Foreign Affairs expelled three employees of the Russian Embassy in Moldova after the Information and Security Service claimed that the diplomatic mission had helped pro-Russian MP Alexandru Nesterovschi escape from justice. The criminal case against Alexandru Nesterovschi was opened in 2023. Prosecutors claimed that he received at least $35,000 from fugitive oligarch Ilan Shor to leave the Socialist Party and join the Revival Party.
