A new bridge was built in Mykolaiv region with the help of the military and international partners. The bridge was destroyed by the Russian occupiers in November 2022.

This was reported by the press service of the Mykolaiv Regional State Administration.

A new bridge crossing over the Ingulets River was put into operation in the Snihuriv community. Thanks to the financial support of the state fundraising platform UNITED24, its donor, AWT Bavaria LLC, and cooperation with the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, the bridge repair units of the State Special Transport Service have completed the capital construction of another important bridge in southern Ukraine.

Vitaliy Kim, head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military District, emphasized the importance of restoring this bridge, which connects Mykolaiv and Kherson regions and is key for medical, school and passenger transport.

"This connection is very important for people because it was destroyed during the invasion. In January 2023, we opened a temporary wooden bridge. All bridges in the Snihurivska community were also flooded due to the explosion of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station," said Vitaliy Kim.

Oleksandr Yakovets, head of the State Road Service, thanked the sponsors and the military for their diligent work in restoring the bridge. He noted that the community is keeping a good pace and that this is the way to rebuild the whole of Ukraine.

The length of this bridge is 54 meters and the width of the roadway is eight meters. Construction work began in August of this year, and the bridge was put into operation in December.

Representatives of the departments that took part in the bridge reconstruction received well-known certificates, awards and honors.

In addition to sponsorship support, the regional budget allocated UAH 10.7 million for the restoration of the crossing, of which three million was spent on the purchase of construction materials and UAH 7.7 million on the pavement of the bridge and its approaches.

The construction was made possible with the support of the State Special Transport Service, the UNITED24 fundraising platform team, AWT Bavaria LLC, and local governments. Soldiers from the 36th Konotop Road Repair Brigade were directly involved in the bridge's restoration.

In March, the bridges were officially opened in Snihurivska and Shevchenkivska communities. The connection is now available not only for cars but also for trucks. Big business representatives also joined the reconstruction.

So far, almost all bridges damaged by Russian aggression in Mykolaiv region have been restored. 19 bridges that were damaged due to active hostilities in the region have been fully rebuilt. The main and largest bridge is in Voznesensk, which helped stop the advance of Russian occupation forces in 2022.
