8 buildings damaged by Russian missiles in June-July 2025 are to be partially and completely dismantled.

The decision was made by members of the Executive Committee of Odesa City Council at an extraordinary meeting.

The members of the executive committee gathered for an extraordinary meeting on Thursday, July 17 at 11:00 am. There was only one issue on the agenda - the dismantling of objects damaged or destroyed as a result of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine. Director of the Department for City Improvement Oleksandr Ilyin was supposed to report on it, but Gennadiy Trukhanov spoke instead.

According to him, the technical conclusions regarding these buildings were approved by the Commission on Technogenic and Environmental Safety and Emergency Situations just the day before.

"The commission proposes to partially dismantle four houses near the station and one on Serednya Street. It has recognized a part of the building and a house on Novoselsky Street and a private house on Vynohradna Street as unsuitable for restoration," said the mayor.

He advised the owners of apartments and houses to apply for compensation under the state program "eRestoration" and to receive housing certificates for the purchase of new housing.

In addition, Trukhanov noted that the city authorities will support the restoration of damaged buildings

"The city authorities continue to seek resources and partners from both government and international organizations to provide vital support to residents. We are also mobilizing internal reserves, specialists, infrastructure and volunteer initiatives to respond quickly and with dignity," he added.

At a regular meeting of the executive committee in June, members of the committee agreed to compensate residents of the houses on Yaroslav Mudryi Avenue and Skisna Street that were hit by Russian missiles. According to Mayor Gennadiy Trukhanov, 13 apartment owners on Skisna Street have already applied for compensation totaling more than UAH 18.3 million. According to the commission, four apartments in the house on Yaroslav Mudryi Street were destroyed. The owners of three of them have already applied for compensation totaling UAH 6.7 million.

In May, an extraordinary executive committee announced the dismantling of four residential buildings that had been completely destroyed by Russian shelling. The deputies decided that the dismantling would be carried out on Skisna, Agronomichna, Zadniprovsky and Mykola Borovskoho streets.
