In Kherson, the journalists visited the most dangerous areas of the city, where shelling and Russian drones are operating daily. Residents survive among destroyed houses and lack of basic communications, risking their lives for survival.

This was reported by Channel 5.

Ukrainian Witness correspondent Victoria Pinchuk visited Kherson and filmed a report from the areas where the war is raging every day. The film crew visited the "Island" - the Ship District of the city, which is regularly shelled by Russian occupiers with anti-aircraft guns, FPV drones and artillery. Previously, about 10 thousand people lived there, but now only about 200 remain.

The situation in the city is critical, but some residents are forced to return to the destroyed areas due to lack of funds.

The film crew also visited Antonivka, one of the most dangerous areas of Kherson region. Here, the Ukrainian military constantly intercepts enemy drones. The area is considered a "red zone": the occupiers target both military and civilians, sometimes openly demonstrating their aggression.

"Welcome to hell," is how the defenders of the city greeted the journalists. Almost no one enters the area, not even the police, as there is nowhere to hide, as all the buildings have been destroyed. The streets are dotted with wrecked cars from FPV drones dropping ammunition.

The military told us how they fight the drones: sometimes they catch them "live" - they move on purpose to attract the drone and shoot it down with a rifle.

"There is constant shelling, FPV drones arrive, the streets are mined, and "hail" regularly falls on residential buildings and shops," one of the defenders describes the situation.

The situation on "Ostrov" is even more dangerous because of the constant strikes by the KABs on the bridge, which is the only way between the district and the city. The locals use this bridge to get food, medicine and water. Many residents are so used to the shelling that they hardly react to the attacks.

Public transportation is no longer available, so some people have to walk. There are no children in the area - they were the first to be evacuated. There is no electricity, gas or heating.

In late August, an Intent correspondent reported on the evacuation of residents of the Korabelny district of Kherson. People had to leave their homes and go into the unknown - earlier, even during the flooding of the district due to the accident at the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant, they stayed at home.

This time, targeted air strikes by the Russian army on the bridge connecting the Ostrov neighborhood with the rest of the city forced people to evacuate. Due to the shelling, there is no electricity, water or gas in Korabela, and the delivery of humanitarian aid is difficult, so local authorities urged residents to leave the area.
