185 million spent on modernization of Kherson water supply

In 2025, the Municipal Utility Company "VUVKG of Kherson" paid considerable attention to the renewal of the water infrastructure. Kherson" paid considerable attention to updating the water supply infrastructure and ensuring electricity supply. The most notable expenditures were related to capital repairs and equipment modernization.

The year began with large-scale electricity purchases: in early January, more than UAH 34.5 million was planned for these needs, and at the end of the month, the company ordered electricity for another UAH 90.94 million, which turned out to be the largest expenditure of the company for the entire year. In addition, in January, the company purchased office equipment (UAH 99 thousand) and security services (almost UAH 65 thousand).

To ensure the operation of electrical grids, the company purchased accessories and equipment: parts for lamps and lighting equipment (over UAH 97 thousand), lamps and fittings (UAH 98 thousand), accessories for insulated cables (UAH 95 thousand), electrical distribution cables (UAH 99.5 thousand), equipment for switching and circuit protection (UAH 97 thousand), elements of electrical circuits (almost UAH 100 thousand), and transformers (UAH 90 thousand).

Expenses were also incurred for the repair and maintenance of equipment: cars (up to UAH 199.9 thousand), motorcycles (almost UAH 200 thousand), and firefighting equipment (UAH 35 thousand). We bought tires, spare parts, batteries and lubricants - about UAH 99 thousand for each item. To ensure water supply, we carried out major repairs of artesian wells on Mykolaivske Highway, Mykola Hrynko, Sretenska, Filatova streets and on the territory of the Kherson Tuberculosis Dispensary, with costs for each facility ranging from UAH 700 thousand to more than UAH 1.2 million.

The company also implemented infrastructure renewal projects: major repairs of the water supply system from I. Bohuna Street to NSV-3 (about UAH 14.7 million), development of design and estimate documentation for civil defense facilities (UAH 97.6 thousand), purchase of sand, gravel and building materials (from UAH 91 to 100 thousand), mastics, putties and solvents (over UAH 99 thousand).

To ensure the safety and quality control of employees, the company paid for medical examinations (psychiatric examinations for substance use - UAH 55.8 thousand), the purchase of oxygen (UAH 48.5 thousand) and a modular laboratory for drinking water control at the expense of UNICEF, which cost almost UAH 4.6 million. In November, electricity costs were also significant, amounting to UAH 21.85 million.

Significant expenses were spent on energy, transportation, logistics, and to support the operation of treatment plants and internal water supply networks.

Thus, in 2025, the municipal utility company Production Department of Water Supply and Sewerage of Kherson spent more than UAH 185 million on the largest purchases, the bulk of which was spent on electricity, major repairs of water supply and wells, as well as equipment and materials for water supply and power grids.

Also in 2025, the Department of Territorial Development of the Kherson Regional State Administration spent more than UAH 174 million on the construction and repair of schools, outpatient clinics, and water supply networks. Most of the money was spent on the reconstruction of an administrative building in Vysokopillia into an outpatient clinic, with some procurements being accompanied by delays and questionable contractors.
