War destroyed 7,000 houses and 20 medical facilities on the right bank of Kherson region

On the right bank of the Kherson region, medical facilities and thousands of private homes destroyed by Russian aggression have been restored. The total amount of compensation paid for destroyed housing has already exceeded UAH 600 million.

This was reported by the Kherson Regional Military Administration in response to a request from Vgoru.

In particular, as of June, 24 healthcare facilities have been fully restored, and repairs are ongoing at two more.

Almost 38 million hryvnias were spent to rebuild healthcare facilities in communities far from the contact line, partly from the state budget and partly from local budgets. In addition, large-scale projects are underway in Kherson to build an underground hospital and an underground perinatal center.

In total, 165 medical facilities on the right bank were damaged by Russian attacks, and another 21 were completely destroyed. The housing stock has also suffered significant damage. According to official data, 6,742 private houses alone were destroyed, and more than 25,000 more were damaged. We managed to restore 5,894 buildings.

Among the multi-storey buildings, 103 were destroyed, 1,369 damaged, and 31 have already been repaired. Damage was also recorded in the education sector: 71 educational institutions were destroyed, 295 were damaged, and 13 were restored.

Residents have filed 3,109 applications for compensation for destroyed housing and 7,814 for damaged housing. The total amount of compensation already paid is over UAH 626 million.

In December, 27 facilities damaged by Russian shelling were planned to be restored in Kherson region. The Territorial Development Department of the Kherson Regional State Administration together with local communities compiled a list of these facilities. UAH 23 million was allocated for the development of project documentation.

Only 10% of the design costs were planned to be financed from the regional budget, with the rest to be raised from local budgets. The facilities include educational institutions, medical facilities, and infrastructure projects to restore water supply and sewage systems.
