A rehabilitation center is nearing completion in Voznesenskiy district and houses for IDPs are to be built. The community is actively helping the military, internally displaced persons and children by investing in recovery, rehabilitation and industry.
Antonina Sharata, acting head of the Voznesensk District Military Administration, spoke about the community's achievements and the challenges it faces.
March 5 was a landmark day for Voznesensk district, as it was on this day three years ago that the district was liberated from Russian occupation.
According to Antonina Sharata, 450 million hryvnias were allocated from local community budgets to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the defense forces, of which 206 million were allocated for 2024 alone and 25 million for January-February 2025. More than 38 million was provided to support female and male veterans and their families.
In addition to financial assistance, attention is paid to the rehabilitation of the military. For example, the construction of a rehabilitation center in Voznesensk is nearing completion to provide services to veterans and all those in need. The center will be the first specialized institution in the region to provide rehabilitation services for patients with various needs, from physical and psychological to social. The total budget of the project is UAH 37 million.
Currently, there are 15,000 internally displaced persons in the district, of whom 3,000 receive state aid. Communities are implementing social support programs, including housing. The Domanivka village council, in cooperation with international partners from Denmark, has already built two houses for IDPs, and four more are planned for the second stage.
The district also continues to work on child protection. Currently, 328 children have the status of orphans and children deprived of parental care. Thirty-nine children have been placed in family-based care. Five family-type children's homes have been opened, and three more families are preparing to create foster families.
In 2024, significant financial resources were allocated to community development. Local budgets received UAH 1.9 billion, and overplanned revenues amounted to UAH 137 million. Priority areas included the construction of shelters in schools, social initiatives, and support for the agricultural and industrial sectors.
Winter crops were sown on 200,000 hectares, and 42 industrial enterprises in the district continue to operate. The total volume of products sold last year amounted to UAH 69 billion, with electricity generation accounting for the largest share.
In early February, an educational hub was opened in Voznesensk, a modern space for education, socialization and psychological support for children who cannot attend school offline. Last December, a community bakery was launched. It not only promotes local entrepreneurship but also provides residents with the opportunity to learn new professional skills.
Voznesensk is also starting to overhaul a shelter located in the basement of the local community center. In addition, the construction of a modern composting cluster worth 50 million is planned. This project will help reduce the amount of organic waste in landfills and help raise environmental awareness among the population.
