Vinnytsia Opens Humanitarian Center for Kherson IDPs - 8th Support Hub

The Kherson Humanitarian Center for internally displaced persons from Kherson region "Free together" has been opened in Vinnytsia.

According to the Vinnytsia Regional Military Administration, the humanitarian center "Free together" will provide IDPs from Kherson region with free humanitarian aid, legal and psychological support, and employment advice from the employment service.

According to Oleksandr Prokudin, head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, support for people who were forced to leave their homes but want to return is extremely important.

"Thanks to unity, thanks to the fact that you accept Kherson residents and continue to help, Ukraine will survive. Despite various challenges, we must be close to each other. This is the eighth support center for Kherson residents to be opened in our country, " added the head of the Kherson CCA.

Andriy Kavunets, deputy head of the Vinnytsia Regional Military Administration, said that Vinnytsia region has been supporting Kherson region since the first days of the full-scale invasion.

"Vinnytsia region hasbeen by Kherson'sside since the first days. We helped at the beginning of the war when there was a need for humanitarian response and when there was an act of environmental terrorism at the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant. In general, since the beginning of the war, almost 23 thousand Kherson residents have lived in the region at one time or another, " he said.

According to the official, about 11,000 internally displaced persons from Kherson region are currently living in the region. The new humanitarian center will work to meet their needs.

Earlier , Vinnytsia Regional Military Administration purchased one hundred containers for collecting household waste for Kherson. The Russian occupiers were stealing or destroying municipal property as they retreated from the city. To make the streets of Kherson clean and tidy again, as before the events of the full-scale war, the city needed help, which was provided by the Vinnytsia administration.

In addition, a humanitarian hub for internally displaced persons from Kherson region was opened in Mykolaiv. In addition to psychological and legal assistance, the hub offers food, hygiene and other kits. It also has a children's corner for kids from Kherson region, and plans to open an employment center.
