Liudmyla Terentyeva, Doctor of Philosophy, Professor at the I. I. Mechnikov Odesa National University, has died in Odesa. She devoted more than half a century to science and educated many generations of students.
This was reported by the press service of Odesa National University.
According to the press service, Lyudmyla Terentyeva headed the specialized academic council D 41.051.09 for the defense of doctoral and candidate dissertations in the specialties "dialectics and methodology of knowledge" and "social philosophy and philosophy of history." Her colleagues called her a keeper of scientific traditions who combined precision of thinking with a deep philosophical vision.
Her colleagues noted that her path in science began in childhood, with her amazement at the structure of the world and the realization that material things consist of invisible particles. This interest later grew into many years of research in the field of system-parametric analysis of scientific theories and logic, to which she devoted more than half a century of work at the university.
Teachers and alumni remember Liudmyla Mykolaivna as a mentor who demanded independent thinking and intellectual honesty from her students. According to them, she came to lectures focused and principled, leaving personal concerns out of the classroom and expecting students to be sincerely interested in the subject and actively participate in the discussion.
Also recently, Lyudmyla Sebova, director of the educational complex "Marine Lyceum - School No. 24" of the Odesa City Council, passed away. From 2002 to 2020, she was a member of the Odesa City Council.
In November 2015, journalists criticized her for her activity on the Odnoklassniki social network. It was about liking the political show "We are for Putin," which was interpreted as public support for Russian President Vladimir Putin and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
