The death toll from the combined attack on Kyiv on the night of July 31 has preliminarily reached 31 people, including three children. Another 159 people were injured, including 16 children.

On August 1, Kyiv authorities declared a day of mourning for the victims of the massive Russian attack. On this day, all entertainment events are banned in the city.

"Putin rejects peace efforts and wants to continue his war. And the world has the necessary forces to stop him - with joint pressure and a principled position in favor of a full, immediate and unconditional ceasefire," said Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiga.

In June, the UN Security Council held an emergency meeting due to Russia's recent massive shelling of Ukraine, which hit Odesa, Mykolaiv and Kherson regions, among others. At that time, Ukraine was also the initiator, and France called on the members of the UN Security Council to condemn Russia's escalating aggression against Ukraine and its violations of international humanitarian law in order to force Moscow to put an end to it. Earlier, the shelling of Odesa on the night of June 10 damaged and destroyed residential buildings, an emergency ambulance station, a maternity hospital, and a fire broke out in the Odesa Zoo. At least nine people were injured. Another nine were rescued by firefighters.
