Odesa' s Chornomorets continues to play control matches and prepare for the spring part of the season in Turkey. African legionnaires joined the team at the training camp, including goalkeeper Chijoke Kingsley Anyagboso. The women's national team had to win both games to keep their chances of qualifying for EuroBasket 2025. Unfortunately, the first match put an end to these hopes - a 15-point run by Portugal at the beginning of the last quarter decided the outcome of an evenly matched match. In the last match against North Macedonia , there was also a very close fight, which this time ended in favor of the Ukrainians. It is worth noting Alina Yagupova, who recorded a double-double (19 points and 10 assists).

Ukraine's national team continues to go without a loss in the Euro 2026 qualifiers. In two matches, the bronze medalists of the World Cup were stronger than the Germans, while the first was relatively difficult, the second was a real defeat. The decisive matches in the group will take place on April 11 and 15.

This week, only Angelina Kalinina was active among the leading Ukrainian tennis players. Theresident of Novokakhovka took part in the WTA250 tournament in Cluj, Romania. There, she managed to reach the quarterfinals, where she unexpectedly failed to beat the "neutral" Belarusian Sasnovich, who had not even qualified before and was playing in the "Lucky Loser" status. Angelina served for the match twice, but it didn't work out, just like in the decisive tiebreak.

Fencing.

Olga Harlan visited a fencing school in Mykolaiv. The Olympic champion of Beijing and Paris talked to the coaches with whom she started her great sports career, as well as to young sportsmen and women, for whom she also held an autograph session. By the way, Olga has repeatedly stated that she plans to open her own fencing school in the future.

Invictus Games

The opening ceremony of the Invictus Games took place in Vancouver. The Duke of Sussex, Prince Harry, who is the founder of the competition, warmly congratulated the Ukrainian team, which includes 4 representatives of Odesa region and one veteran from Kherson region. The main competition will take place from February 10 to 16.
