Two civilians killed in Kherson region by Russian shelling

On August 22, Antonivka, Beryslav, Novoberislav, Tomaryne, Chervonyi Mayak, Novovorontsovka, Mylove, Veletynske, Kizomys, Komyshany, Sadove and the city of Kherson came under enemy fire and air strikes by the Russian occupation army in Kherson region.

This was reported by the head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration Oleksandr Prokudin.

The official said that during the shelling, the Russian occupiers hit an educational institution and a store; residential areas of the region's settlements, including five high-rise buildings and nine private houses. The occupiers also damaged a gas pipeline and agricultural machinery.

According to Prokudin, two people were killed and five others were injured in the region that day as a result of Russian aggression. Thus, on August 22, 2024, at about 06:00, the Russian military, after having fired artillery at Tomaryne in the Beryslav district. An 87-year-old woman sustained life-threatening injuries. The day before, the occupiers also shelled Kozatske about forty times. The village was under fire from drones and artillery. A 58-year-old local resident sustained fatal injuries as a result of one of the nighttime hostile attacks. Also, a 76-year-old woman was hospitalized in Kherson community. She sustained explosive and closed head injuries, contusion, and a shrapnel hip wound as a result of the recent enemy shelling of the Korabelny district of Kherson. At the time of the attack, the victim was in her apartment. A wounded 19-year-old man was also taken to the hospital. He has an explosive injury and a shrapnel wound to the chest. The victim received them as a result of the enemy dropping explosives from a drone in Dniprovsky district. He was on the street at the time. In addition, a 39-year-old man was wounded near the entrance of a house when an enemy shell hit him. The victim was hospitalized with explosive and craniocerebral injuries, contusion and shrapnel wounds.
