Two men and a woman agreed to cooperate with the occupiers during the capture of Kherson. They organized the educational process in schools and a kindergarten according to Russian standards and now face imprisonment.
According to the National Police in Kherson region, all three collaborators held positions in the so-called occupation educational institutions, including schools #37 and #41 and kindergarten #26.
Investigators found that after the occupation of the regional center, the illegally created local authorities seized Kherson specialized schools and preschools, and on their basis created "state budgetary educational institutions of Kherson region". For example, a 46-year-old man became the "director" of the illegally created by the occupiers "Kherson region school No. 37 in Kherson", another 54-year-old resident of Kherson headed the "Kherson region school No. 41 in Kherson". And a 48-year-old woman took the position of "head" of the "Kherson region" "Antonovsky kindergarten No. 26 in Kherson".
The police emphasized that these "positions" provided for the performance of organizational and administrative functions aimed at implementing educational standards that do not comply with Ukrainian legislation. The collaborators' activities were detrimental to the national security of Ukraine. Law enforcement officers have gathered sufficient evidence against the criminals and now they face up to three years in prison with a possible ban on holding certain positions for a period of 10 to 15 years.
Recently, the court handed down sentences to two pensioners for running occupation schools in Kherson region. They were convicted of collaboration, but so far in absentia.
In addition, a former lyceum director from the Kakhovka district of Kherson region, who was engaged in propaganda and helped to implement Russian standards in education, will be brought to trial. The woman conducted propaganda activities, forcing students and staff to sing the Russian anthem every morning.
Also, Intent wrote that the principals of eight schools in the occupied territory helped the occupiers organize the educational process in educational institutions according to the Russian curriculum. Now they face up to 12 years in prison.
