The United States will support Kherson region in implementing recovery projects

During a meeting this week with a delegation from the Kherson region, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the United States Oksana Markova emphasized the government's readiness to provide the necessary support to the Kherson region to implement projects aimed at restoring energy, water, and transportation networks.

According to the Kherson Regional State Administration, as part of the implementation of the USAID Agricultural and Rural Development (AGRO) Program international technical assistance project, Dmytro Butriy, First Deputy Head of Kherson Regional State Administration, as part of the Ukrainian delegation, took part in a study visit to the United States and visited the Irrigation Trade Show 2024.

"The event brought together more than five thousand participants who shared their experience in the development of water supply and water conservation. This meeting opened up new opportunities for attracting investment in the restoration of the infrastructure of our region, in particular for the agricultural sector," the statement said.

Dmytro Butriy discussed with the heads of Motorola Mottech Water Solutions, Responsive Drip Irrigation, and Cornell Pumps the introduction of modern technologies in the Kherson region that will not only reduce resource consumption but also ensure the efficiency of reclamation systems.

The Ukrainian delegation also visited California enterprises, including the San Luis Reservoir and the private farm of J. G. Boswell Company's private farm. The participants learned about water management, transparency, and cooperation between public and private entities that ensures sustainable development of the water sector.

In addition, Butriy met with representatives of the U.S. government, including Jim Slattery and other influential politicians of the partner country. During the meeting, Oksana Markarova emphasized the government's readiness to provide the necessary support to Kherson Oblast to implement projects aimed at restoring the region to ensure the smooth operation of social and medical institutions.

"Innovative solutions will improve agricultural performance in the region and create new jobs in the relevant sectors of the economy," Butriy emphasized.
