Osvita.ua has published a ranking of Ukrainian regions based on the results of the 2025 National Multisubject Test (NMT).

The rating is based on the average scores obtained by school graduates in each region. This year's NMT was conducted in the format of computer-based testing and included four subjects: Ukrainian language, mathematics, history of Ukraine and one subject of choice. The testing took place in a difficult environment - most regions of Ukraine were under constant threat of air strikes. Nevertheless, the Ukrainian Center for Educational Quality Assessment reported that all participants received their results.

Osvita.ua emphasizes that due to the hostilities, a significant number of students were forced to leave their homes and continue their online education in other regions or abroad. Given these peculiarities, the authors of the rating note that it is not necessary to make management decisions based solely on these indicators.

In particular, three southern regions took the last places in this ranking. Their graduates demonstrated the lowest average score among all regions of the country. Odesa region took 20th place with a score of 132.71, while Kherson and Mykolaiv regions took 22nd and 23rd positions with scores of 132.29 and 131.69.

The ranking was compiled by Osvita.ua using the official report on the results of the 2025 NMT, published by the Ukrainian Center for Educational Quality Assessment.

As a reminder, 6610 first-graders entered schools in Mykolaiv region this school year, and most of them will study offline. In addition, 3,000 students who returned to Ukraine from abroad with their families have been enrolled in local schools.

This school year, offline learning is predominant in Mykolaiv region. Of the 397 educational institutions in the region, 179 will operate full-time and 165 will operate in a mixed format. In total, 87% of the region's schools will return to normal education, as all of them are equipped with proven shelters that can accommodate all students and staff.

Special attention is paid to rebuilding schools in the de-occupied territories. Thus, 85 severely damaged institutions have already been restored. In those settlements where 35 schools were completely destroyed, modular schools were built with assistance from the Danish Council.
