For 9 months of 2024, prosecutors of the Kherson Region Prosecutor's Office effectively ensured the implementation of the constitutional function of representing the interests of the state. And despite all the challenges of wartime, they have intensified their activities in priority areas such as the budget, land, state and municipal property.

This was reported by the press service of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office.

The post says that outside of criminal proceedings, prosecutors have filed claims for assets worth UAH 3.1 billion. The value of the assets in respect of which the courts have ruled to satisfy the prosecutor's claims is UAH 1.3 billion. The actual enforcement of court decisions worth about UAH 1.8 billion was ensured. The area of land returned to state and municipal ownership or prevented from being illegally alienated is 771 hectares.

The press service also reported that since the beginning of the year, claims for UAH 119.5 million have been filed to protect the state's interests in the budget sphere, UAH 4.3 million has been recovered from the budget as a result of court decisions, and UAH 117.3 million of budget funds have been prevented from being diverted.

The main violations to which prosecutors respond are: non-fulfillment or improper fulfillment of contractual terms; concerted anti-competitive actions (collusion) by tenderers; recognition of those bidders who did not meet the requirements of the law as the winner of a public procurement; conclusion of additional agreements with the winners of tenders, on the basis of which the price of the procurement item is unreasonably increased.

It is noted that at the suit of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office, the court opened proceedings to recover UAH 44.6 million from the business entity. Thus, prosecutors found that in 2021, the company, which operates in the field of gambling, received a number of licenses. Instead of honestly fulfilling its obligations, the company ignored the requirements of the law and did not pay for the licenses. As a result of non-payment of annual payments to the special fund of the State Budget of Ukraine, the company owed the state tens of millions of hryvnias.
