The Prymorskyi District Court of Odesa has sentenced a 56-year-old man to life imprisonment for intimidating and raping underage girls for three years.

This was reported by the press service of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Odesa Oblast.

During the pre-trial investigation, Odesa police found that from 2018 to 2021, the defendant, using his son's photo, met girls on social media, conducted erotic correspondence with them, sent intimate photos, and then, having gained their trust, asked the victims for intimate photos. If the girl agreed, the offender would call her, pretend to be a police officer, threaten to make her public and force her to meet him to allegedly resolve the problem. Fearful of being judged by family and friends, the victims complied with the man's conditions, and he raped them with force, sometimes filming it on a cell phone.

Ten girls aged 10 to 15 suffered from the perpetrator's actions. A total of 26 episodes of crimes against children were documented. Having gathered enough evidence, law enforcement officers charged the perpetrator and sent an indictment to court for rape, corruption of minors, and production and distribution of pornographic items. The trial lasted several years.

In July 2025, the Qualification and Disciplinary Commission of Prosecutors decided to dismiss the prosecutor of the Bilyaevsky District Prosecutor's Office in Odesa Oblast. The girl was riding with men in a car and drinking alcohol. Later, near the river in the back seat of the car, she voluntarily had sexual intercourse with one of the men. The other man, she claims, forced her to have sexual intercourse. The men confirmed in written explanations that they had sexual relations with the minor, but denied that it was forced.
