A Russian citizen living in Kherson is put on trial

Prosecutors of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office have sent to court an indictment against a Russian citizen who has been living in Kherson for a long time. She is accused of justifying Russia's armed aggression against Ukraine.

According to the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office, according to the investigation, in July 2022, the woman was in the then-occupied Kherson and actively used social media.

In particular, having a Telegram account, she subscribed to pro-Russian publics and propaganda media communities, where she left comments in support of the aggressor state.

The woman is charged with Part 3 of Art. 436-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - justification of Russia's armed aggression against Ukraine.

The pre-trial investigation was conducted by the SBU investigators in Kherson region.

The case has now been referred to court.

Earlier, Intent wrote that on February 25, the Kherson City Court sentenced a former media representative Yevhen Beliy. He was sentenced to 12 years in prison with full confiscation of property for collaborating with the occupiers.

As a reminder, the former secretary of the Oleshky City Council of Kherson Oblast, Viktor Syrota, was found guilty of collaborating with the Russian occupation administrations. The court sentenced him to nine years in prison with confiscation of property.

In addition, law enforcement officers served a notice of suspicion to a resident of the temporarily occupied Crimea who headed the illegal administration of the occupiers in the village of Kozachi Lageri in Kherson region.

Earlier, prosecutors of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office sent to court indictments against two residents of the region on the fact of voluntary election to illegal authorities.

Both defendants are actively engaged in public activities aimed at creating a positive image of illegal authorities. They participate in sessions and make decisions in favor of the aggressor state.
