In Mykolaiv, law enforcement officers detained a local informant who was passing data to the enemy to adjust strikes on Ukrainian troops. The offender may receive up to 12 years in prison for disseminating information about the Armed Forces.

This was reported by the SBU Communications Department.

SBU counterintelligence prevented new attempts by Russian invaders to obtain information about the defense of Mykolaiv. A 31-year-old local informant was detained in the regional center, who was transmitting data to adjust strikes on Ukrainian troops.

The main targets of the enemy were places of concentration of personnel and equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The informant tried to identify the positions of radar stations, anti-aircraft missile systems, and routes of mobile fire groups to help the Russians conduct attacks bypassing air defense.

The offender received information from local residents during domestic conversations. SBU officers timely detected his activities, documented the facts and ensured the security of defense facilities.

At the final stage of the special operation, the informant was detained in his apartment in Mykolaiv. He was working for the traitor Serhiy Lebedev, who is now hiding in Donetsk and cooperating with two enemy special services. During the search, the SBU seized equipment and a phone with evidence of his subversive activities.

The offender was served a notice of suspicion under Article 114-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - unauthorized dissemination of information about the Armed Forces during martial law. The offender was taken into custody without bail and faces up to 12 years in prison.

Law enforcement officers also detained an official of the Pervomaisk City Council, who is suspected of treason in favor of Russian special services. She collected and passed on to the Russian side information about the movement of Ukrainian troops, the location of mobile units of the Armed Forces and the routes of military equipment in southern Ukraine.

At the end of April, another informant was exposed in Mykolaiv, who was transmitting data on the location of Ukrainian troops and equipment to his curator via Telegram. He was going around the city looking for the positions of the Ukrainian military and also found out information from his friends.
