Since August last year, 23 ambulances and 140 police cars have been destroyed by Russian drones on the right bank of the Kherson region.

This was reported by the head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration , Oleksandr Prokudin, in an interview with the British publication Byline Times.

According to him, these attacks have become more frequent since August 2024, when the enemy began to actively use drones to strike civilian vehicles, cyclists, and even people at bus stops or in stores. Drones have become a threat to everyone in open spaces.

According to Prokudin, from August to March 2025, about 16,000 drone strikes were carried out, resulting in 85 deaths and 880 injuries, including 11 children. In total, 770 people died and 4,300 were injured in Kherson region as a result of Russian aggression. Over the past year, 23 ambulances and 140 police officers were destroyed in such attacks.

The problem of protection against drones remains relevant for Kherson. Oleksandr Prokudin shared information about the new defense system that has been implemented in the city. Kherson became the first city to be surrounded by an electronic barrier - an automated system that detects and destroys enemy drones, neutralizing up to 85% of threats. This innovative system is the result of six months of work and hundreds of thousands of devices connected to a single control center.

On the night of March 4, an ambulance exploded near Novovorontsovka. The explosion damaged a wheel of the vehicle, but fortunately, the medics and the patient were not injured.

During the evacuation of wounded civilians from Antonivka, patrol police officers in their official car hit an anti-personnel mine.

This year, in February, 13 residents of Kherson died as a result of Russian shelling, and another 113 people were injured of varying severity. In January 2025, 16 residents of Kherson were killed in enemy attacks, and another 154 residents were injured.
