Since the beginning of the year, the enemy has intensified its attacks on the Kherson community. Dozens of residents have been killed and hundreds more injured as a result of the shelling.

This was reported by Suspilne.

According to Denys Putintsev, Director of the Department of External Communication and Media Relations of the City Council, since the beginning of 2025, the Russian army has attacked the Kherson City Territorial Community more than 2,500 times.

The occupiers use various types of weapons. The intensity of the shelling is increasing, which is confirmed by official data.

For comparison, in 2024, about eight thousand attacks on the community were recorded. This year, more than 400 people, including 39 children, have been injured as a result of the attacks. More than 40 residents, including four children, have become victims of Russian aggression.

Starting April 1, the curfew in Kherson region will change from 21:00 to 05:00. This decision was made by the Regional Defense Council. In addition, restrictions related to Easter and memorial days have been introduced. During the curfew, services cannot be held, consecration will only take place during the day outside of churches, and cemeteries are allowed only for funeral ceremonies.

Recently, Kherson police officers told children how the occupiers use recruitment methods. During the war, enemy intelligence services are trying to use Ukrainian children for their own purposes, recruiting them to spread propaganda, adjust fire, and gather intelligence.

Despite the shelling and difficult conditions, about 25% of Kherson residents remain in the city, supporting each other. During the 2022 pseudo-referendum, most locals avoided voting for fear of persecution. Although the Russians still control part of the Kherson region, much of it was liberated by the Ukrainian military in 2022.

Kherson remains under constant attack by the Russian army, which shells the city from the left bank of the Dnipro River. In 2024, the occupiers fired dozens of missiles, drones, and bombs, and the undermining of the Kakhovka Dam caused widespread destruction in the region.
