Kherson region was once again subjected to Russian shelling. Over the past day, the invaders massively attacked the region's settlements.
According to the press service of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, enemy fire and air strikes hit dozens of villages, towns and cities, including Kherson, Antonivka, Sadove, Beryslav, Stanislav, Tomina Balka, Yantarne, and many others.
Residential areas were damaged during the attacks. In particular, one high-rise building and 15 private houses were hit. The enemy also damaged about ten vehicles.
According to the administration, seven civilians were injured as a result of the shelling. The injured are being provided with medical aid.
Earlier, Russian occupation forces shelled a hospital in Kherson region and killed a nurse in the suburbs of Kherson. Svitlana Kharchenko, a nurse at the Kherson Polyclinic who devoted her life to helping people, was killed during a Russian drone attack near Antonivskyi Bridge. On January 16, 2025, Svitlana left the hospital to return home, but was attacked by a Russian drone on the way. An eyewitness said that the woman was seriously injured and, despite trying to hold on, died on the spot. Her body was found the next morning near the bridge.
Recently, a volunteer from Kherson, Iryna Bayrachenko, was killed by a Russian drone. Her schoolgirl daughter Margarita was left without a mother.
On January 14, a 56-year-old nurse of a local outpatient clinic was killed in the suburb of Kherson, Antonivka, as a result of Russian shelling.
On January 8, Roman Matviychuk, the head of one of the neighborhood committees of the Korabelny district of Kherson, was killed in Naddnipryanske by a Russian drone attack. The Russian military attacked a car with a drone, in which 71-year-old Roman Matviychuk was with the driver.
On January 6, an ecologist of the city council, Volodymyr Shum, was killed in a Russian drone attack on a minibus in Kherson.
