Rescuers pull two victims of Russian attack from rubble

A nighttime attack by unmanned aerial vehicles in Odesa led to a fire in a high-rise building and the death of a couple.

This was reported by the press service of the State Emergency Service in Odesa region.

According to the State Emergency Service, a fire broke out on the 7th, 8th, and 9th floors of a 21-story residential building as a result of the hit. People were trapped in the apartments, and it was difficult to get to them due to the smoke and high temperature. Rescuers were simultaneously rescuing people and extinguishing the fire.

Firefighters rescued five people, including one small child. According to preliminary information, two people died. Information about the victims is being clarified, so far four are known.

According to the head of the Odesa regional administration, Oleh Kiper, rescuers have removed from the rubble the bodies of a couple who died as a result of an enemy drone strike on a residential building. Currently, two children injured in the Russian attack are being treated in medical facilities: A 7-year-old boy in moderate condition and a three-year-old who was poisoned by combustion products.
